This seems to fit in well with the "enhanced" fireworks display at the opening ceremonies. It reminds me of what a teacher of mine told me many years ago. She said, "all media is a construction." Many media events, such as the evening news, are similarly altered, but do not come under such scrutiny because of the smaller scope of the production. To enhance the aesthetic quality of a production at this level, whether through digital alteration or through simply substitution, simply makes sense.
I dont think the first girl was ugly at all. And I agree with Imani, she will be scarred.
