What the hell China!!

“Games organizers confirm that Lin Miaoke, who performed "Ode to the Motherland" as China's flag was paraded Friday into Beijing's National Stadium, was not singing at all.

Lin was lip-syncing to the sound of another girl, 7-year-old Yang Peiyi, who was heard but not seen, apparently because she was deemed not cute enough.” CNN

What the hell china!!!.. first off she is just a little girl, and asian she has to be cute..right?

YOU R RETARDED

So apparently Groups that advocate for people with disabilities are asking us to boycott the Ben stiller movie “tropic thunder” over the word retarded…..

Aimee Keegan, public relations manager for AHRC Nassau, said any use of the word is "hate speech."

Writer Jenna Glatzer, 32, of Islip, remembers the day when her younger brother, Paul, who has Down syndrome and is now 29, asked her a heartbreaking question.

"He came to me when he was maybe 9 or 10 years old and asked me, 'What does "retard" mean?'" Glatzer said. "Just off the cuff, I said, 'It's short for "really terrific."' ... It was terrible to hear it coming from his mouth. He understood there was something wrong with the word and it was about him." www.newsday.com

First of all that’s…well that’s just plain retarded. For one lady you’re a liar, the word retarded doesn’t mean terrific it means: slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development or academic progress (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/retarded)

As in “damn it took you ten minutes to count to five you’re a retard.”

Secondly, “retard is hate speech” what!? Actually I won’t dispute that, honestly if something offends you it offends you I can’t argue. I’m pretty sure some people find kittens, candy, and Jesus offensive… sooo to each his own…I guess.

My main problem is this.. Why make such a big deal? The only thing you’re doing is giving “tropic thunder” free advertisement…hell all this controversy makes me want to see it even more..Plus I’m pretty sure no retarded people were hurt during the filming of tropic thunder. So please just sit the hell down retard..…

HEAD LINES:

McCain and Obama tweak views on Iraq

"WASHINGTON — John McCain and Barack Obama have been on opposite sides of the debate over U.S. policy in Iraq for much of the past two years. Now, they seem to be drawing closer together.
Both now say the U.S. military can begin winding down combat operations in Iraq. Both believe the U.S. should begin stepping up its combat presence in Afghanistan. And each candidate says those views are a change of heart for his opponent"- usa today

My brain just exploded reading this. this whole country is going down the drain.. and its everybody's fault but mine's :-)

"Poll finds low-income voters don't think either candidate can fix economy "

“Democratic Sen. Barack Obama holds a 2 to 1 edge over Republican Sen. John McCain among the nation's low-wage workers, but many are unconvinced that either presidential candidate would be better than the other at fixing the ailing economy or improving the health-care system, according to a new national poll.”- msnbc

I got one thing to say – “duh!!!”

“BEIJING — Two men rammed a truck into a clutch of jogging policemen and tossed explosives, killing 16 officers Monday in an attack in a restive province of western China just days before the Beijing Olympics, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.”
“Though it happened on the far side of the country — near the Afghan-Pakistan border — the attack came as security forces were on alert for protests or any disruptions during the Games, which open Friday. It was among the deadliest and most brazen attacks in years in Xinjiang province, site of a sporadically violent rebellion by local Muslims against Chinese rule.
About 20 people upset at having been evicted from their homes staged a brief demonstration near Tiananmen Square, Beijing's heavily guarded political center. Uniformed police quickly surrounded the group until members of a neighborhood committee came and pulled the protesters away, scuffling with some.” – fox news

Funny how fox news makes a connection between what happened at the Afghan-Pakistan border with what happened in Tiananmen square.. That’s like relating some one robbing a bank in L.A to someone yelling at a cop in New York. Can’t wait till Billy O gets his greasy hands on this…the bastard.

‘A prosecutor says Josef Fritzl, the man who held his daughter captive for 24 years in a cellar and fathered seven children with her, may be charged with slavery.”
“Investigators say Fritzl confessed to taking his daughter Elisabeth prisoner when she was 18, sexually abusing her and fathering seven children with her, including one whose body he allegedly tossed into a furnace. They say subsequent DNA tests confirmed he is the surviving children's biological father. “ – CNN

IF IT WAS UP TO ME. THIS “MAN” (term used loosely) WOULD BE LOCKED IN A BOX FOR THE REST OF HIS MISERABLE LIFE.

WHY YOU SO DAMN SELFISH JAVI?

In response to my “I don’t care about Darfur article.” I received many insightful comments… I want to post a snippet from jules- indigo also I will like to thank him/her for expressing thoughts on my article… I've also added my response(of course) Enjoy!

“to say that you don't care about what happens in Darfur is not right. There's a difference [between] taking care of self, and taking care of home, but there's also responsibility. Essentially we are keepers of each other. “

“Please read, "How Europe under developed Africa". What I am saying is, what we allow to happen to our neighbors (elsewhere, here) may someday happen to us. In the beginning Africans were selling Africans to Europeans, and then Europeans flipped it on them. Taking care of self, means that you are also taking care of each other. We shouldn't have to wait for the injustice to happen to us for us to know its wrong, "injustice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere".”
-JULES-INDIGO

I am not disputing that there are innumerous atrocities occurring around the world. Nor am I saying that these atrocities mean nothing. What I am trying to say…. At this point in time there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to fix these issues……And at the very least the attempt to help will cause an even bigger issue…. Let’s run through a very typical scenario. Shall we?

Somewhere there is a European occupied country in Africa. Due to decades of institutional racism, and segregation. The people of this country decide to revolt against their oppressors… but it doesn’t stop at removing the “white” man. The oppressed then turn their attention on those who were held in higher regard and privilege.( The “house slave” if you will.)

What happens then can only be defined as a snowball effect of terror and violence. People are executed, women are raped, children are left hungry, and dying, the countries economical infrastructure is either destroyed or used as the bank account for those in charge……

Now all we see here in the U.S is the after effect of this back story we see the poverty and the violence.. But we don’t see the cause….. Nothing we do from the comforts of our cushy western lives can fix this situation…. Yes we say we need to help our fellow man but which group do we help.. If we help one we neglect the other the cycle continues…. We need to realize the world is screwed up, because of generations of hate and ignorance.. It will take generations of the very opposite to fix this issue…. At this moment there isn’t one single government with the resources in place to fix this. Especially!! The U.S

Now if you want to personally fix these issues by all means go ahead. Just don’t tell me it’s my responsibility because it’s not. Personally I couldn’t tell you how happy I am that it isn’t.

I DON’T CARE ABOUT DARFUR!

Yeah I said it. I can really care less about Darfur. As a matter of fact I can care less about Africa ( with the exception of Zimbabwe ..don’t ask) and any other damn country not named United States of America…..

” Oh how dare you not care about your fellow man and all their issues?”

I will definitely answer that question, but let me start by telling you a story …..

A couple of days ago a close friend of minds started going through something I can only explain as a nightmare come true.. The father of her child was diagnosed with H.I.V, and doesn’t have long to live due to the fact that he has contracted bronchitis, and has full blown AIDS…….Obviously three things went through her mind.

1. Does she have it

2. Does her child have it

3. How will her child survive without her

Now keep in mind, due to the circumstances of their relationship there is a very slim chance that either her or her child has the deadly disease. … “What’s your point javi?” ok ok I will get there just continue reading………….

Now ever so often her son’s grandmother would call explaining how bad the child’s father is doing. Telling her she should call him….. This would very much annoy her. Why? Will she has herself and her child to worry about. She needs to be confident that their lives are not in danger.. And once she is 100% in the clear she can be supportive if she so wishes, till then she has to be selfish… do you blame her?

Soo what does this story have to do with me saying “I can care less about Darfur, Burma, and other charity of the month locations”……. Everything.

How can we really expect to help these places when we on our own downward slope…. We owe trillions of dollars.. The dollar is losing value… we are fighting a war against an ideology…..

Yes the U.S is still the richest and most powerful country in the world… but we are slowly eroding from the inside out……

Why is it that we have so many issues internally? yet some of us can only think about what is happening outside our borders…. Don’t you know the more we spend out there the less we have in here….. In no way am I saying that we all (no matter what I still won’t care) should shut ourselves off forever. I am simply saying if the doctor is sick shouldn’t that doctor heal him/herself before working on dying patients.

RAPED AT THE PUMP

As promised, i will attempt to shed some light on a problem that effects many of us on a monthly, weekly, and even daily basis.
OIL PRICIES!!!!( insert evil laughter and lightining)
When seen through the mostly ignorance fueled view point of our two presidential hopefuls. we have to either blame those damn liberal, bleeding heart environmentalists( so says mccain), or the evil heartiest Saudi's, and Bush's ( so say obama). looks to me like we have hit a snag. Someone has to be wrong or just straight lying. But if you believe in things like gravity, and the sky being blue. You would have realized a very long time ago politicians say things they believe people want to hear not necessarily what's true........ The best way to hide the truth is by getting people to think the it is way to much to comprehend or understand... In all honesty it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when someone is screwing you over, you just feel it....soo lets try to look at this issue in a less bull sh##ty way shall we....

What determines the cost of fuel?
It sounds crazy that 68% of all oil in the world is controlled by ten company's YES i said it TEN. So there you go if Oil comes from these guys why not blame them? Not so fast! Just like coffee and pork. Oil is something we like to call a "publicly traded commodity". Sure the oil producers can slightly change the price of oil by being d*** and saying we lost our drills or we gotta take an extended lunch break(not really) but you get what i am trying to say (i hope). "BUT" In all actuality it is really the world markets that determine how much we pay at the pump not prince Abdulla, he really can care less, even if we pay 10 cents a gallon he is still gonna be able to get one of these.

Now lets get an idea of how exactly "world Market" effects our wallets at the pump:
within each market we have a group of people called "Oil Traders". These traders are essintaly investors who speculate(ie guess) the value of oil and make a s**t load of money buy "buying" oil cheap and selling it at a higher price. yes i know supply and demand does play a role in speculating fuel cost, but there is also alot of "what if" involved. acording to
http://fuelfocus.nrcan.gc.ca/fact_sheets/oilmarket_e.cfm

"Buyers and sellers also factor in what they expect will happen to prices in the future. If buyers think that supply might be lower in a few weeks or months and the price could go up, they will want to stockpile some oil now and might even be willing to pay a premium today to protect against a higher price in the future. Similarly, if buyers think that the supply of oil will increase in the future or that the price can be expected to decline soon, they will delay their purchases as long as possible or demand a discount on the price."

The problem with this system (in my opinion) there is way to much "factors" involved ,that can get these guys upping the price. including their own greed.

Now that we have an understanding of what determines fuel cost at a global level, lets see what effects prices at a more local level.
Unfortunately the price increases dont stop at the world markets.. more cost gets tacked on as they enter our beloved country. why? well your senator has to eat too.
the average American pays 62 cents per gallon in state taxes alone......
SO now what!
There is no quick fix . I honestly believe the only way to create change is by focusing our attention on those truly responsible. the thing is if we don't know where to direct that attention we have no hope at all.
looks to me like the issue of rising gas price go far beyond the band aid policies Mccain and Obama try to feed us... thanks for reading
