So CNN decided to let the cat out the Bag. How dare they tell all those other "people"?! what its like being a Black Person.? now every body's going to start eating fried chicken, dieing of diabetes and high blood pressure. I hate you CNN. HA!
For the most part this wasn’t just an exercise in feeling sorry for ourselves....My issue with this program and many others like it, whether they mean to or not. Feed the idea that a Black American should be categorized separately from other Americans. When will the time come where there isn’t a need to classify people by their skin color, but rather their citizenship, or better yet their character. That was MLK'S dream and my hope..... But I must reiterate this point: as long as we get programs like this emphasizing our lives as black Americans we tend to forget about our lives as human American..

I am kind of split on this topic. I can see where you are coming from, but do you feel as if these programs have any help towards America at all? You might feel that these programs are a step backwards in trying to deal with racisim, but there are actually people still out there, from all different races, color, etc..., that still believe all the negative things about Black Americans. Africans Americans just want to show the world that they are more then what people think. But on the other hand, I have to admit that even if there was nothing else on TV, you would not catch me watching it. In my eyes everyone is capable of doing anything they want.
All these dumb ass programs do its tell the world the same shit they already know... that black people are still suffering and there is nothing anybosy can do about it.
and i like the idea of being a human american... they should start putting that choice on all those little forms that ask you to check the box that best descibe you..I think i'm going to just start writing that in instead of checking one.
When will we just be PEOPLE or Americans. Am tired of being afrian americian. I want to just be americian.
Why do we have to be put in a category in the first place. Has anyone realize that there is no real definition of being african american? if they wanna do a documentry do it with african indian americans, african latin americans, african asian americans and of course the infamous african caucasion americans. My point is we are ALL A MELTING POT NO ONE PERSON IS PURELY BLACK WHITE ETC.. look up your ancestors or speak to your great great grand mother who if u look in her eyes u can see a dash of some type of ethincity. People give it a break because when u die I don't think GOD is going to seperate u by color, gender, or class..... more like have you completed your purpose on earth as I have created you for? and I dont think slipping a $50 in heaven or waving the race card is gonna help.
